#5 Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo
Finishing our top 5 list is Keranique. This shampoo is said to be ideal for color treated hair, hair loss and thinning hair, however, reviews on this product were negative and most of its users we not satisfied.
- Among water, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate are listed as its first few ingredients.
- Contains sulfates, silicones, and uses synthetic colors and fragrances.
- Contains little to no natural oils, extracts, vitamins, proteins or amino acid
Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo is designed to gently deep clean and stimulate your scalp. Keratin and panthenol help your hair feel lighter, cleaner and more buoyant. This Shampoo does not use SLS, however, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate (MES) is the second ingredient. MES is used in engine degreasers and is generally considered a gentle cleaner when used in low concentrations. Many studies claim that MES is a carcinogenic because it contains sulfates.
Several reviewers complained about dry hair and breakage, and how this product was ineffective. As far as customer service is concerned, that is where most of the negative reviews were centered on: rude service, not being able to return products and additional charges on customer's credit cards.
Keranique only offers a 30-day guarantee.
For a company to claim to be sulfate free they use several ingredients that contain sulfates in them. If you have thin or damaged hair already you may want to consider a more natural approach to healthy hair.
