#2 Pureology "Hydrate" Shampoo and Conditioner
Taking our number two spot, Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Hydrate Conditioner is a highly concentrated salon product. However we were surprised to find so many harsh chemicals in a brand with a name like "Pureology".
- Several essential oils
- Contains silicones, parabens and synthetic colors and fragrances
- Decent user experience and reviews
- 28 day conditional guarantee
INGREDIENTS
The good is that Pureology uses coconut, corn and sugar extracts as well as green tea that leave your hair hydrated, moisturized and thick.
However, Pureology Hydrate Shampoo also uses Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA) as a foaming agent. Although more mild than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, SLSA is a harsh sulfate and has been known to cause scalp irritation.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Throughout our extensive research of thousands of customers reviews and reader testimonials, Pureology user reviews and satisfaction is fairly low. Many users were sold this product only because the stylist at their salon suggested it. After surveying our readers, several responded by saying they would not use this product again and it was not helpful to their hair. Some even reported severe drying of the hair and scalp after usage.
GUARANTEE
Pureology's guarantee is extremely restricting, they only offer a refund within four weeks of purchase. Also, if you purchase their product at a drugstore, grocery store or retailer you're unable to get a refund.
SUMMARY
Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner includes some great ingredients, such as, green tea and sandalwood, but they also include some unfortunate synthetic ingredients. Harsh sulfates, Silicones, parabens, which was quite a surprise from a salon product that's considered to be of high quality. Because of that reason many users do not keep using this product. People who have color in their hair did not like this product as well.
For more information or to purchase the product, take a look at the Pureology website.
P.S. While Hair La Vie is the best natural hair shampoo and conditioner we've found, we would still love to hear about any others you've tried. If you have had a great experience of your own, please send me an email at Bianca@ConsumersSurvey.org with the details. We'll check it out and if it looks good, we'll post it on our blog.
Sincerely,
Bianca Thompson
